Good Friday

We have finished the first week - 6 of 36 treatments down! The completion of each Friday will become great milestones for us as we go. The radiation has not become an impact yet, but the chemo impacts are peaking (as they predicted). Nausea and fatigue, and a very annoying metallic taste in a dry mouth, are frustrating, but I realize very minor really. We are very thankful that I have avoided vomitting and other extremes.
So thank God for this week that is done, and its minor impacts. Most of all, we should thank God for what this week represents - the work of Christ in suffering and passion, to totally conquer sin and death forever. That is the best "Friday" thought ever! And Sunday's hope is even better! We are so thankful for the living hope He has secured and provided for us!
Thank you for your constant prayerful love toward us. Because He lives we can face tomorrow!

Way to go Aaron.... totally outstanding that rather than surrender to anxiety and depression you have done what God intended, drawn closer and quietly listened for His voice! Like Patton's observation regarding the American 101st Airborn commander encircled at Bastogne in WW II, anyone like you has simply got to be rescued.

A Catholic priest from Bavaria, Blessed Father Francis Xavier Seelos CMHR (1819 - 1867) knew that his calling was to serve as a Redemptorist priest in North America. Serving in New Orleans, LA during a yellow fever epidemic he exhausted himself caring for and comforting the sick and the dying. Eventually he contracted the disease himself and it took his life. During his illness, he observed, "The truth is that I cannot thank our loving God enough that he arranged things in this way and provided me with this time of grace in which I can spiritually take deep and long breaths that give light and warmth; time to water and make fruitful my inner life".

Now that there is time, be quiet and listen. God will tell you why this is happening and what His plan is for you that required this intrusion into your life.

Aaron,

Thanks for the update. You all are in our prayers daily. Thanks for sharing what the Lord is doing in all of this. It helps us to see His power in all this. We are praying specifically for the side affects you mentioned in your last blog. Please let us know if we can do anything to help.

Aaron, You are special and I know that God Has some wonderful blessings for you and your family through this experience.
George Mueller, that had the orphanages in England once said, "The only way to learn strong faith is to endure great trials. I have learned my faith by standing firm amid severe testings."
God is doing something special for your life at this time.

Aaron, there are a group of Cajuns here in SW Louisiana who are praying for your recovery. It has been my experience that God listens to our prayers and answers to the greatest extent which will fit His plan. My theory is that he likes our cooking but for whatever reason, we are glad to have Him on our side to support you through this difficult time. Hang in there. We'll be standing by for news as it is available.
